Milestones 2.0 is here and it’s pretty packed! Here are the updates:

New:

• iPhone Duo support
• A new task composer on iPhone, iPad and Mac: type dates in plain language (“tomorrow at 5pm”, “every Monday”), add #tags and !1 to !3 priorities right in the title, and edit a task in place on its row or card
• Attachments: add photos, files, scans and camera shots to any task in the new Task Info view (tap ⓘ or press ⌘I)
• Select multiple tasks, projects or milestones at once and change their status, date, priority, tags or place together
• Drag a task to To Do, In Progress or Done right from a list, and drag a milestone onto another project (or use Move to Project)
• Today, Upcoming and Inbox can switch to a Kanban board
• Milestones with a due date now appear in Today and Upcoming
• Favorites: keep your most important projects at the top of the sidebar
• Custom project statuses, plus default milestone and project statuses for new projects in Settings > Defaults
• Active milestones per project: allow one active milestone, several at once, or none
• Pick any color for projects, workspaces, tags and statuses, not just the presets
• See your iCloud sync status at the bottom of the sidebar (or the Project List on iPhone)
• A small celebration when you finish a milestone (you can turn it off in Settings)
• Keyboard shortcuts: change any shortcut in Settings, jump anywhere with ⌘K, move through lists and act on tasks without the mouse, and use the full menu bar on iPad
• Mac: Quick Entry adds a task from any app with a global shortcut (off by default)
• Mac: a fresh look for macOS 26+ with Liquid Glass, and a redesigned Settings window
• The Default workspace can tint the sidebar too, in a color you choose
• You can now skip creating a first project during onboarding

Improvements & Fixes:

• Redesigned task rows and Kanban cards with a status ring, clearer priority marks and a two-line notes preview
• iPhone: a new milestone header, search in its own sheet, and one tidy More menu in task lists
• Today, Upcoming, Inbox and lists use the whole window on iPad and Mac
• The Mac remembers its window size between launches
• Better VoiceOver, keyboard and large text support throughout, and correct layouts in Arabic and Hebrew
• Faster editing and reordering in big projects, especially ones with a long Done history
• Repeating tasks: fixed several cases where the next occurrence landed on the wrong day or lost its time, priority or end date
• All-day due dates stay on their day after you travel or change time zones
• Due Today, Tomorrow and Next Week keep a task’s time
• Siri: “due Friday” now means Friday, German and French times are read correctly
• Apple Watch: Today moves on to the new day at midnight, even without your iPhone nearby
• The app notification badge and widgets update right after an iCloud sync
• Search no longer misses results in the current workspace
• Typing a tag that already exists reuses it instead of creating a duplicate
• Archived lists show their tasks again

New:

• Workspace accent: the app now takes on the color of the active workspace. Buttons, progress bars, highlights, and the composer switch to it, and everything returns to blue in the Default workspace
• Prefer the classic blue everywhere? Turn off “Use Workspace Color as Accent” under Settings > Workspaces. The sidebar keeps showing your workspace color either way

Improvements & Fixes:

• Mac: the workspace color in the sidebar is now a soft glow from the top instead of a vertical band
• Mac: fixed the app failing to launch on macOS 15
• Mac: editing a task in the composer no longer reverts a due date, priority, or repeat you set from the task’s context menu in the meantime
• Mac: removed the empty space under New Project, New List, and New Workspace in the New menu on macOS 26 and earlier
• Workspaces, the app icon badge, and the text size setting are now translated into every supported language

New:

• Workspaces: group your projects into separate spaces and switch the whole sidebar between them. Today, Upcoming, counts, search, and quick capture all follow the active workspace, with a Settings toggle to keep the smart lists global. The sidebar is washed in the workspace’s color so you always know where you are
• Workspaces on every device: pick a workspace per widget, see the active one on Apple Watch, and filter projects through the Mac’s MCP server
• Larger text: Milestones now follows Dynamic Type on iPhone and iPad, and a new Text Size setting in Settings > General scales the whole app on Mac
• App icon badge: see how many tasks are overdue or due today right on the icon, on the Home Screen and in the Dock, with a Badge App Icon toggle in Settings
• Project Settings: name, status, workspace, icon, and color now live in one screen that applies changes as you make them, replacing the old Edit sheet, with appearance on its own page
• AI agents connected through the Mac’s MCP server can now create projects

• The app no longer hangs on launch while iCloud is catching up

Milestones 1.12.1 makes planning and completing your projects even easier.

New:

• Schedule milestones with optional start and due dates, overdue indicators, and deadline reminders
• Print milestone and project-backlog task lists or export them as clean, searchable, multi-page PDFs
• Choose between Auto, Light, and Dark appearance
• Create and update scheduled milestones through the Mac MCP server

• Automatic start dates: activating a milestone can set today as its start date, with a new Settings toggle when you prefer to manage dates yourself
• Print task lists from milestones and project backlogs, or export them as clean, searchable, multi-page PDFs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
• Appearance controls: follow the system or keep Milestones in Light or Dark mode
• AI agents connected through the Mac’s MCP server can now create milestones with schedules and update their name, status, active state, and dates

Improvements & Fixes:

• Completed tasks can now be reordered by dragging, just like open tasks
• Task, project, and milestone context menus are cleaner and consistently organized, with more reliable right-click behavior on Mac
• Changes from widgets, Apple Watch, Siri, and MCP now keep task and milestone reminders in sync
• Recurring tasks and typed due-date or recurrence shortcuts handle malformed input and extreme intervals more safely

Fixed an issue that could cause Milestones to close immediately after launch when the Apple Watch app was installed. Thanks to everyone who reported it!

This update mainly focuses on bug fixing and reliability, so there’s a lot more that changed behind the scenes.

• Added deletion confirmations for tasks, with affected-item counts when removing projects, milestones, or tags

Fixed a critical bug that would make all data disappear if iCloud Sync was turned off. Affected users should get their data back upon updating to this version if they didn’t uninstall/reinstall the app in the meantime.
